Games for teaching

Everytime I meet my students, they always asked if they can play a game. I always prepare games for them but I always say that if they don't study hard, they can't play a game so they always pay attention. I prepare games related to our topic so they also learn while they are playing. There are lots of games to do in the class. If our lesson is about verbs, we do the mime game and I called it a guessing game or action game. One will act in front of the class and the students will guess using the right sentence like "Are you ______?" and it must be answered by "Yes, I am or No, I'm not." This game is more fun if you make some flashcards and let the leader to pick up a card and act so they can't choose what they want or else the hardest one will be left so they won't participate at the last one. If you don't have the flahscards then just write the words on a piece of paper and let them pick up. It is advisable if your students can read. For starters, flashcards is better.

There are times that it's hard to think of a game for a particular lesson. Then just do the hangman game. The leader will come in front and choose a word on the pages that they have taken and write lines according to the letters. If the word is "apple" then he would draw five lines. The remaining student will guess the word by saying a letter. The leader will write down the letter on the line if it is correct and the wrong are under the lines. Every wrong letter, the leader will draw each part of the body until it will become a man. Someone who can guess the correct word will say the spelling and the meaning of the word and it will be his/her turn to be a leader.
